We got tired of starting projects without knowing what we'd need. So we built the tool we always wished existed.
Why we built this
Every home improvement project starts the same way: you've got a weekend, a plan, and a trip to the hardware store. Then you get home, start the job, and realize you're short on materials — or you bought twice what you needed and wasted $200.
FixIt Estimator was built to fix that. We combined real-world material formulas with current pricing data to give you an accurate materials list before you ever leave the house. No guessing. No waste. No second trips.
We're not a big company. We're a small team of people who've done these projects ourselves — painted rooms, laid floors, built decks, patched drywall. We know what the job actually takes, and we built the math to prove it.
How we work

Our formulas are based on real contractor calculations, not rough guesses. We account for waste, overlap, and standard coverage rates so your estimate is actually useful.
No upsells
The estimator is free. We earn a small commission when you buy tools through our affiliate links — but we only recommend tools we'd actually use ourselves.
